Pictures:
I chose these pictures because when Romeo and Juliet first look at each other, they fall in love and both these pictures represent this.
Pre-Song:
Song: Who We Are
By: Switchfoot
I chose this song for the pre-song because it is talking about regrets. One of the verses goes like "We were just kids just living in Wide-eyed innocence." This reminds me of Romeo and Juliet because they were literally kids and they didn't really know love. When they die, they are innocent because they were just trying to be happy, and to try to be involved in an adult-like situation.

Act One Songs:
Act 1, Scene 1:
Song: Glory and Gore
By: Lorde
I chose this song for Act 1, Scene 1 because the Montagues and the Capulets are both well-known (they are glorious), but their servants and friends and young family members are always looking for a fight (they are gory.) I also chose this song because the Montague and Capulet fights are famous and a line in the song is "That's why we're making headlines," implying that the fights are famous and well-known. This song also seems to be a good theme song for the book.
Act 1, Scene 2
Song: Crash Your Party
By: Karmin
I chose this song for Act 1, Scene 2 because Romeo and Benvolio are inviting themselves to the Capulet's party that night. They are "crashing Capulet's party." Also, a lyric in the song goes like " Who do you think you are" and the Montagues think they are higher than the Capulets and the Capulets think that they are higher than the Montagues.
Act 1, Scene 3
Song: Never Grow Up
By: Taylor Swift
I chose this song because Juliet doesn't really sound ready to "grow up." Her Mom and Nurse both want her to get married and have kids soon, before she gets old. If Juliet never thought she was ready, if she fought her Mom and Nurse, she'd still be alive and so would Romeo.
Act 1, Scene 4
Song: Raise Your Glass
By: Pink
I chose this song for Act 1, Scene 4 because i feel that this be would Benvolio and Mercutio (mostly Mercutio) would be saying to Romeo while going to the party. For one, a lyric in the song goes "Party crasher," and that is exactly what they are. Also, another short lyric is "Why so serious?" This could work because Romeo is still sad about Rosaline, but Mercutio thinks he should get over it. Lastly, another lyric goes like this..."What part of a party don't you understand? Wish you'd just freak out." Mercutio would be saying this because Romeo isn't in the party spirit, and Mercutio just wants him to have fun.
Act 1, Scene 5, Part 1
Song: Tip Toes
By: Jayme Dee
I chose this song for Act 1, Scene 5, Part 1, because its obviously very poppy and about falling in love. Part of the song goes "Silly love songs made me so sick, Couldn't stand them now they all click," meaning that before she didn't understand love/love songs, now she understands how it feels to love. This is exactly how Juliet feels. At first, she doesn't know how to love, but now that she does, it all makes sense.
Song: Alive
By: Natalie Bassingwaighte
I chose this song for Act 1, Scene 5, Part 1 because it reminds me of what Romeo would be thinking while meeting Juliet. The fisrt full verse is "Never thought the day would come when I'd see My reflection smiling right back at me It's been a while since I've been happy Not sure, that I'm ready I never planned on letting love in Didn't wanna go back there again." This reminds me of what Romeo would be thinking because he has been really sad about Rosaline, but now he has met Juliet and is in love again. He didn't want to fall back in love, but now he has.
Act 1, Scene 5, Part 2
Song: Love Whiplash
By: Jayme Dee
I know its another Jayme Dee song but, I chose this song for Act 1, Scene 5,Part 2 because of many reasons. There is a part of the song that goes like "Just when I think we're on solid ground, You pull the rug out and out and knock me down." This relates to Romeo and Juliet because both think that they are perfect for each other, but then, they find out they were born enemies.
